Assistant General Manager (AGM)
The position entails professionally coordinating with any other AGM’s in performance of their duties, managing facilities staff and ensure smooth and ongoing operations of the business on the premises, staying alert and take measures to ensure the safety and security of people, animals and property on the premises, including around the lodge, the workshop and the cottages; ensuring constant removal of needless garbage and debris from the lodge, cottages and surroundings, ensuring any company vehicle you drive is kept clean inside and washed when dirty, seeing to it that staff get to work and back if need be, managing reservations, check-ins and check-outs, collecting of payment in advance or upon check-in and for incidentals, on check-out; managing the relationships with booking sites and agents, answering inquiries and queries from agents and guests on the phone and online, handling staff and guest issues, ensuring pools are maintained and pool areas are presentable; managing the lodge, kitchen and bar staff; tracking and reporting on staff hours for payroll purposes, ensuring adequate stock levels of liquor, food and supplies, maintaining adequate levels of linens, cutlery and crockery, ensuring cleanliness and hygiene in the lodge, cottages, kitchen/s and bar/s; ensuring tables are set on time and to standard, ensuring quality service of our food and drink, ensuring preparation of meals for staff who are provided meals, and filling in and helping out where needed.
Head Chef
A highly skilled professional cook with a recognized professional diploma or degree to oversee our restaurant and food services, responsible for planning and directing food preparation and culinary activities from conception to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to constructing menus with new or existing culinary creations, ensuring the variety and quality of the servings, estimating, controlling and tracking food requirements and costs, controlling labor costs, preventing and reporting theft, arranging for equipment purchases and repairs, recruiting and managing kitchen staff, rectifying arising problems or complaints, giving prepared plates the “final touch” before they leave the kitchen, performing administrative duties, complying with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards, ensuring correct reporting of time worked by all kitchen staff and maintaining a positive and professional approach with superiors, coworkers and customers. You will need - proven working experience as an executive chef, an excellent record of kitchen management, the ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently, to be capable of delegating multiple tasks, good communication with superiors and kitchen staff, leadership skills, a working knowledge of basic computer systems such as MS WORD and EXCEL and restaurant management software such as Pilot Software. This is a salaried position that may require shift and after-hour work.
Sous Chefs
Professional Sous Chefs to be the second in command to our Head Chef, who employ culinary and managerial skills critical to maintaining and enhancing our customers dining experience. Responsibilities include but are not limited to helping in the preparation and design of all food and drinks menus, producing high quality dishes both in design and taste, ensuring that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards, filling in for the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary, resourcefully solving any issues that may arise and seize control of any problematic situation, managing and training kitchen staff, establishing working schedules and assess staff performance, ordering supplies to stock inventory appropriately, complying with and enforcing sanitation regulations and safety standards and maintaining a positive and professional approach with superiors, coworkers and customers. These are salaried positions requiring shift and after-hour work.
Short Order Cooks
Cooks to prepare fast, simple food such as sandwiches, eggs, fries, burgers and other similar food working on many orders at once, getting them all out as fast as possible for our hungry guests using fryers, grills, microwaves and other industrial cooking apparatus while measuring and weighing ingredients. As part of a large team reporting to a head or sous chef, you will need to be able to communicate effectively and work as a team to create a great dining experience for customers. These are salaried positions requiring shift and after-hour work.
Cocktail Servers
No formal education is required for these positions but you will need demonstrated skills to serve drinks and food, dexterity, the ability to walk and remain standing for several hours at a time, attention to details, good communication shills, courtesy and personality. Responsibilities include but are not limited to and you will be expected to greet guests in a friendly and welcoming manner as they enter and leave, verify that young looking guests are old enough to consume alcoholic beverages, take orders and prepare and serve drinks as ordered, prepare your work station for readiness, serve food and alcoholic beverages efficiently, set tables and answer questions regarding menu selections, check with customers to ensure satisfaction, remove dishes and glasses from and clean tables tables and counters, stock service areas as instructed, monitor and observer customer dining experience, thank guests for their visit and invite them again and collect and/or process payment and deliver receipt and change to the guests. Enthusiastic bartenders to provide an excellent guest drinking experience, able to create classic and innovative drinks exceeding our guests’ needs and expectations. You are expected to prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant guests, interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks, assess guests' needs and preferences and make recommendations, mix ingredients to prepare cocktails, plan and present bar menus, take stock and report any overage or underage and theft. Housekeepers
Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to vacuuming, dusting, mopping and waxing floors in the lodge, laundering and changing and linens, cleaning windows and furniture, keeping the suites stocked with clean glasses and cups, coffee and tea supplies, towels and other bathroom items such as body lotion and shampoo. Some housekeeper/maid positions may also require cooking or food preparation. These are minimum wage positions requiring shift and after-hour work. Cash tips from guests are yours to keep.
Grounds Keepers
Groundskeepers responsibilities include but are not limited to the overall maintenance and upkeep of the grounds and landscaping around the lodge on a daily basis in order to achieve and provide a clean, comfortable, presentable and positive guest experience, cleaning, repairing and servicing all equipment and motorized vehicles used in grounds maintenance such as mowers, tractor/trailers, and a variety of hand and power tools, mowing lawns and trimming plants, trees, bushes, hedges, and shrubs using hand and power tools, landscaping new ground areas, repairing damaged ground areas, replacing bushes, hedges, shrubs, and trees, caring for and maintaining flowerbeds and sprinkler systems, fertilizing where needed and applying herbicide and pesticide chemicals to grounds, trees, bushes, shrubs and lawns as instructed, cleaning grounds and removing litter, the daily upkeep of the property buildings and grounds which includes cleaning and removing of trash, the care, maintenance and inventory of all supplies and equipment owned by the property, reporting unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the property or guests and to maintaining safety policies and standards. These are salaried positions that may require shift and after-hour work.
Pool Attendants
Responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining a safe and clean swimming pool and lapa recreational area for guests at all times, supplying guests with towels upon receipt of a security such as a credit card or drivers license, returning and ensuring used towels are laundered each day, ensuring waiting staff retrieve used dishes and breakware, straightening up cabanas, tables, chairs, deck chairs and chaise lounges after use, storing equipment overnight and returning them in the following morning, ensuring life saving devices are readily available and in working order, ensuring that guests adhere to all safety rules, renting pool equipment and serving as a backup lifeguard if necessary. You need to be in shape, fit and able to swim. These are salaried positions that may require shift and after-hour work.
Security Guards
You are there to protect the property, the company assets and its guests, secure the premises and personnel by patrolling the property, monitor surveillance equipment, inspect buildings, equipment, and access points, permit entry and exit, summons help when needed, prevent risks and deter crime, watch out for looming danger, report to management any danger or crime you may encounter or perceive, and handle and remove any unwelcome guests. You need to be trustworthy, alert and aware of your surroundings, honest, reliable, physically fit, within a healthy weight range and exercise regularly, good communication skills and inspire trust and confidence in our guests and management. These are salaried positions that may require shift and after-hour work.
